James Rodriguez has broken his silence after completing a sensational loan move to Bayern Munich this week.
The Colombian joined Real Madrid for a fee of £71million back in the summer of 2014 but struggled for regular game-time at the Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane last season.
On Tuesday, Rodriguez’s two-year loan deal with Bayern was confirmed despite speculation linking the 25-year-old with Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea in recent months.
Just hours after the move was announced, Rodriguez tweeted: ‘Dear Madridistas I am overwhelmed with gratitude after three wonderful years proudly wearing this shirt.
‘I have love in my heart.’
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said
that Rodriguez’s was Carlo Ancelotti’s number one target this summer.
‘Signing James Rodríguez was our coach Carlo Ancelotti’s biggest wish,’ he said.
